i forgot how to sleep. well, how to position my arms anyway.
i sleep with my arms crossed, just like i were standing up. i'm not sure when it started, but i believe it had something to do with me expecting a female next to me. since we slept together for over 2 years, i think it just kind of became habit to have my arms around her...so now that's my default position. the other is one hand under the pillow and the other on the bed like i was doing a pushup...again, that arm is supposed to be around her.
i can't remember how to position my arms now and i can never get comfortable.
so i either need a replacement female or my arms cut off. how do you sleep?

Simple - one arm under the pillow, the other hand laid on top of the pillow. Right cheek down.
Wait... why the fuck am I telling you this?

when i'm alone, i curl up into a ball on my side with one arm usually holding happy, my dwarf. and i love to sleep naked. best feeling ever.
i read somewhere that a really good position for your body to be in is lying on your right side, with your back straight and with your left arm and leg before you. it's supposed to help with circulation or something.
when i'm with my boyfriend, i like to sleep on my side with my back facing him and his arm around me. that makes me feel very close without being in his face too much (dorm beds can be really small )
damn, i miss him.

I don't know but I am having trouble as well! Latley I have been noticing my hart beating as I lay down. I know it sounds strange and I don't have any heart problems but the constent beating justs gets on my nervs! Sometimes I feel myself shake with every beat! Sometimes I just want to stab it and then maybe I could get some rest! I think I am going nuts!

When I'm having trouble, I just fire up Radical Dreamers on my SNES. Don't get me wrong, I like the game, but I'm passed out within minutes every time.

i get that every once in a while...i think it's just like temporary autism or something where you become really aware and hyperfocused on a single thing.

Well, I start off the night on my side - with my legs kinda curled up, and one hand under the pillow and the other on top of the pillow, but I move around while I sleep I guess, cause when I wake up, I'm sometimes lying on my tummy, with my arms totally wrapped around my pillow, and my head nestled in it, or on my back, seemingly trying to take up the whole bed (which isn't a problem, as I sleep alone), or lying on my other side, but in the same position as I went to bed - just mirror opposite.
Mmmm bed.... *goes to crawl back in it*

I sleep on my right side with my right arm straight under my pillow, my legs straight, and my left arm usually wrapped around a blanket or something. I also usually take a small blanket and stick it under my side, above my hip; it makes it SO much more comfortable, hehe. ^_^

With me, it changes every night. However, I find that I do tend to sleep with the pillow over my head, my face sandwiched between the bed and the wall, with my arms somewhere in between. And then there's times when I hold the pillow down with my left arm and I sleep on my right arm. I find it very hard to sleep when I'm in the fetal position, on my back, or on my side. Sometimes I just have to lay on the floor or I won't get to sleep. I am a weird sleeper. And I can't wear socks, although one time I did manage to sleep while wearing my shoes.

I roll and thrash around all night until I find a random comfortable position.

I sleep with a big stabbing knife within easy reach. There is hardly any crime in my neighborhood, but it keeps people from trying to wake me up before I am damn good and ready.

i usually lay on my back with my right hand under my pillow and my left hand where ever it falls. though i love the chrono cross OST. i play my digital copy of disk 3 every night to keep the sounds from outside my bedroom out.
whoever said that they can hear their heartbeat, yeah, dont worry about that, it happens to me also. once it was in tune to my microsoft mouse (the led flashing looking for movment) it creeped me the out.

Don't ask... I usually curl up into a ball and hug a pillow as odd as that sounds...

Sometimes when I lay my head down on my pillow (sleeping on my side, with my ear down), I hear thumping. At first I thought it could be my heartbeat, but sometimes it's too slow for that and sometimes it's too fast. There's three layers of marble on the floor below the bed and an empty bedroom underneath, so I don't think it's anything immediate. Does anybody have any (scientific?) reason for why that happens? There's gotta be a good explanation.
