Everywhere's got its own local crummy ISP. 'Round here, it's called "Frognet." Just recently began offering DSL, and for those with dial-up, random disconnections.

SBC DSL here. i have it. Everything was gravy until a few weeks ago. Service is in and out, slow connection, tech support = not knowing what they are doing. Bleh.

Comcast!!!!!! those fuckers asked for access to the roof last week so they could inspect our connections (we offer satallite to the tenets of this building not cable) and i told them no. well anyways, they got one of the tenets to let them in and went up on the roof without our permission (damn the pent house peoples for not locking the door back). they were walking around on the roof, looking at the wires so they could possibly wire the apartment building(without the owners permission). anyways, my cousin and i (she was visiting) went to pick up in the lobby and say them coming out of the back stairwell (that leads to the roof) after we told them they couldnt come up. i was pissed

You should have called the police and filed tresspassing charges. If the person who let them in did so after you told them NO and they don't have the authority to let them it the charges will stand. Imagine the fun you wuld create with this..

Cuz SBC is one of the Bell companies, slickly made its name letters instead of words, like Geico. SBC blows dogs.

Nothing. Thus the words "move on to".

not only did they totally go back on what they said (i only get 3mb/128k), but they now only supply 1 ip.

i guess it depends on the sales rep of the day.

i totally miss the days of small isps....they were so much better

Pray that you don't have problems with verizon or your dsl line. I have to deal with them on a day-by-day basis and they are the biggest pain in the ass ever.

Edit: Whoops, I didn't see your post! LOL That's only the beginning :)

LOL. When you live in the sticks, you better know how to deal with modems and phone lines. Try Dragon Internet they have SE and Southern Ohio almost covered with local dial up access.
