View Full Version : Flash card for original brick gameboy?
puzzl

Hey guys, I know you all must be sick of seeing a flash card question what seems like every few weeks, but I really had not seen anything concerning my situation.
I recently got me a Gameboy, the original big gray brick one, and I was wondering how I could go about doing the whole flash card thing with it. I really want to use http://littlesounddj.com/LSDJ</a> on an authentic GB, but they don't produce the carts anymore, so I thought i'd purchase the rom and put it on my own backup solution. If I were to do this on the GBA or DS it would be a piece of cake, but I've looked everywhere and just cant find anything about compatibility with the old gameboy aside from a thing called the bung changer, which I can't find anywhere either (probably because its so old).
Any ideas, or is this not possible at all?

Well, if that were the case, running it through RIN on my PSP accomplishes the same. I just wanted to use it on the brick, but I suppose its just not to be.

Hmm...I remember hearing about the old Flash Advance carts being usable with a 'GB Bridge' that would convert everything so it would work in a GB/GBC...but the problem with that is you'd need to track down both (old) bits of technology. I know I've heard of actual GB flashcarts, but honestly I can't remember enough about them to really find out more. I'd try asking someplace like on Pocket Heaven.

Probably the only place you'll find one now-a-days.

Do you know anyone who have bought something there. The site kind of screams "SCAM" all over.

I own a 16mbit (2MB ;D) GB flashcart, but no flasher for it.
I'm not gonna sell it though... it has Sword of Hope 2 on it. :(
Reminds me, I need to get one of those GBA SPs with the improved backlight...
Curse you, Nintendo, for not allowing the original GB/C carts to be compatible with the DS. :( Ah well, one generation of backwards compatibility is more than one usually expects.

Well, it's linked to from the official LSDj site, so I suppose they endorse it in a manner of speaking because of that.
I don't personally know anyone who has ordered from there, though. I was lucky enough to get carts of LSDj and Nanoloop (which you can still purchase, I believe) off eBay a few years back.

ok.
I'll try ordering something in the summer when I'm richer.
I'll post about it in Talk of the Town and report if they're legit.

That's exactly what I have here. Didn't order from that site though (I got mine from Lik Sang before they were forbidden to sell them, or were shut down for that matter).
