It's still up in the air how the Senate will pan out, but I'm extremely pleased about this election. With the democratic majority in the House, I'm hoping we'll see some of corporate-interested legislation rolled back or defeated and the public interest defended. For example, this is a potentially massive victory for net neutrality proponents.

I'm also glad about the Iraq war. With Rumsfeld stepping down, maybe we can take things in a better direction there. Pulling out (BAD IDEA) will be impossible, as Bush is still commander in chief, and perhaps we'll start getting some more competent leadership.

I'm glad that the entire legislature is no longer run by Republicans. I don't have anything against them as a whole (there are plenty of Republicans I respect very much), I just think that a balanced government is more healthy for getting real work done and really tackling issues.
