Castlevania Halloween 98 bug/problem

Hi

I started playing the "Castlevania - Halloween 98" hack but there's a point in the game where it seems impossible to continue. Right after you go through a door, you automatically walk above a hole and fall down. Is there any trick to get past this point or is there absolutely no way to continue there?

Nope, no way to get past that unless you hack the level and stick a platform there. That's probably where the changes stop anyway, so I wouldn't even bother.

So maybe a solution would be for someone with knowledge of Castlevania to fix it for people. <img src=smilies/thumb.gif>

Meanwhile, I had a look at it with "Stake", a Castlevania hack tool. I could add a platform there and I saw there are changes later in the game too, still I wonder why someone released an obviously unplayable hack. Should I put a fixed version of this hack online for download? Though I don't know what the hacker intended to do with that screen and releasing another hack is probably the least thing ROM collectors want.
