...and i am an addict.
i stopped buying junk food and soda 2 weeks ago. last soda i had was a 6 pack of code red a friend brought over.
since then, i've been a wreck. constant headaches, massive cravings, grogginess...it's terrible. last night when i was shopping i caved. i had 2 coupons for dr. pepper red fusion, so i grabbed 2 12 packs. cracked one open when i got home and it felt like a drug user getting his fix. i'm awake today, i'm feeling great....i'm addicted to caffeine and sugar.<img src=smilies/cwm10.gif>

Join the club. People don't realize how addictive that stuff is. There's all this "smoking is bad for you" stuff everywhere... but scarely a parent raises their kids with the same attitude towards the big C.
I quit caffeine for a while... but to make is reasonable I kept on sugar by drinking non-caffeinated soda (like Welches, Sprite, Cactus Cooler, etc). Did it for about 6 months... then realized I was just constantly tired and feeling shitty.. and there wasn't any sign of getting over it. So I just let myself start drinking MD again. I'm on like 3 liters a day now

I'm a chronic tea drinker myself. Constantly drinking liter-sized cups of tea or a can of coke if there's any available.

I felt the exact same way when I quit the big C. Not cigarettes, caffeine. I still enjoy indulging myself in endless refills of Mountain Dew, Dr. Pepper, or Coke. At home, though, I generally go for diet soda just because all the calories are... well, calories.

That's a hillarious suggestion! <img src=smilies/laff.gif>
Coke and coffee is what I drink when I'm trying to avoid my alcholism.

Geez. That's what my mom is like. Drinking Pepsi constantly. I don't drink sodas nearly that much. I get it once in a while from the vending machines, but that's maybe it. Once, I went a week getting it each day, and another time, I got loaded on 100 12-packs of MD, but I'm not really an addict. (The 100 12-packs lasted a week and were a great deal. <img src=smilies/thumb.gif>)

The only person who's going to be sticking needles in me is a dominatrix, and even then, only from the neck down. <img src=smilies/erm.gif>

But replacing caffeine with alcohol would be great at work, imagine explaining to your boss why instead of coffee you walk in with an ice cold budweiser at work, or explaining to the cop who just pulled you over "officer this beer was recommended to offset my caffeine addiction". <img src=smilies/magbiggrin.gif>

I used to drink a lot of caffeine when I worked at bk, because I got it for free. So we're talking at least a few gallons of soda per shift, for four years. I tend not to keep soda around the house, but every now and then I pick some up to mix with my vodka and rum. I drink water most of the time.
I try to keep away from junk food too. keyword being "try". I usually cave once a month or so. For the most part I try to just buy chicken and fruits and vegetables. I'm trying to phase out red meat, but its just so damn tasty.

I drank lots of soda 10 years ago but I switched to water and juices. Now i just have a soda every once in a while. It was the sugar I liked, caffeine doesn't do much for me. Besides water is much better for you, I drink it constatly at work.

Then there's the problem when you're on both of them at the same time...I need powerful caffeine to wake up for work in the morning and a good stiff drink before I go to bed so I can get to sleep....I treat my caffeine problem with alcohol and my alcohol problem with my caffeine....shit.....

I quit drinking soda so much...it's really just a treat when there's nothing else to drink (ie when I'm out of alcohol and water won't cut it). I get my caffeine in http://www.thinkgeek.com/caffeine other ways</a>.

Well...aren't we all. But, if you would like to work on the sugar problem before the caffeine you can try http://www.thinkgeek.com/caffeine/drinks/5b2c/this</a> or http://www.thinkgeek.com/caffeine/candy/5bf6/this</a> or http://www.thinkgeek.com/caffeine/accessories/5a65/this</a> or http://www.thinkgeek.com/caffeine/accessories/5f0b/this</a>. All the fun of caffeine and the energy associated with it without the diabetic concerns of sugar and the calories that come with those 46g of sugars in the Code Red. That way you can cut down the soda intake without giving up the joys of caffeine.
I whole heartedly endorse these fine products and can vouch for their effectiveness. The soap is great...saves you the trouble of that pesky annoyance of having to make coffee in the morning. <img src=smilies/biggthumpup.gif>
I don't have issues....do I? <img src=smilies/retard.gif>
