One of these kids I really dont like who is a sophmore now says he's gonna get a Z32 300ZX. I'm not hating but this kid is "supposedly" rich and his parents are going to get it for him. Its okay if a kid was getting a civc or some crap from his parents or something. But its another thig when kids get cars they cant even half ass handle from there parents and dont even deserve it. That aint cool. I think if youre going to get a good car, YOU should earn the money for the car and buy it them selfs. Not saying you can get loans or borrow money or someone gives you money. But dont whine to mommy and daddy to get you a freaking NSX or something, that shows your a weak person and cant survie on your own. Cowards.... for more visit my Xanga page. PLUG! My parents never gave any of us kids cars.
That whole concept is rediculous. Even a cheap car is expensive. Fuck... if kids want to take up the responsibilities of driving they should take on the responsibilities of earning money to pay for their car.
A lot of my friends not only had cars handed to them (I mean like new cars... not even used cars. Brand new off the lot... several thousands of dollars just as a "here you go" kind of deal. Those parents are insane)... but they also had the INSURANCE payed for them. Jesus. The only thing they had to pay for was gas... but not really because they'd just hit their parents up for money all the time.
I'm not the least bit jealous (I don't really need/want a car at all... more trouble than it's worth for me... especially where I live now), and I never was... I guess I was just appauled.<img src=smilies/eek13.gif>

Mine either. I hated it then but I'm glad now that they didn't. It's funny because in high school most people I know had cars because their parents gave them cars to drive and I always had to bum rides. Now those same people are bumming rides from me because I was motivated to earn money for a car right out of high school and their parents didn't let them take the cars they gave them to college. <img src=smilies/laff.gif>

So let's review, I said I hate rich people and thier kids...so let's disect your post:
"I'm not rich, but I have a very nice used car thats looks brand new. "
Ok, this defeats the whole purpose of getting a brand new BMW or Mustang GT...so no cookie for you.
"I bought it with money I was given from an elderly relative, who shortly thereafter died."
Ok, this is just sad...what reason did you have to post about your family's business...again you didn't have your rich parents BUY you a brand new car...next.
"So now that we've established that you hate me ..."
Oh, putting words into my mouth eh? Your post was pointless and you didn't even read my to begin with. Again, your elderly family member died and you used thier money given to you upon their death to buy a USED car. You totally missed my point. "Have a nice day."

There's buying your kids a car and there's buying them a fucking BMW or Mustang...are you seeing my point yet? I have nothing to be jealous of, I've owned a home and lots of cars...all of which I paid for myself with my own money. It makes me sick to see children driving expensive cars when they need to be driving something more down to earth and learn to EARN things in life. Otherwise you'd see nothing but bums living off of people/goverment. If you don't fit the mold I provided in my original post then don't even respond because it was not directed at you--thank you. <img src=smilies/headshake.gif>

Huh? So if he is a rich kid with a nice car he sucks, but if he's not a rich kid then having a nice car is fine? So basically, you just hate all rich kids - that sounds kinda silly to me.
In Bombay, parents give their kids cars as a matter of course, they consider it their duty (in families that can afford cars). I don't have a problem with this unless the kids are misusing the cars, which happpens quite often. That pisses me off a lot - late-night drunk speeding is quite the norm here. Almost everyone I know in my age group has had an accident or come close to it.

I bought my own vehicle and paid for every repair myself. It's not hard to do, when you have a job. God damn rich bastards.
I hate rich people, I hate soccer moms, I hate stupid people, I hate ugly people, and most importantly, I hate my boss. Had to throw this rant somewhere.

At least you have a car...I've either got to hitch a ride or tune up an old bike. And no, I will doubtlessly never find myself in a position where I choose between the super expensive cars.

Oh man, did I ever grow up around those kids. I went to Torrey Pines High School, in the middle of snobby rich person areas Del Mar and Rancho Santa Fe. The school parking lot was filled with new BMW's, Lexus's, Benz's, etc. etc. I lived in Encinitas and my parents could barely afford to buy themselves a used car.
It fueled my jealousy so (<img src=smilies/magbiggrin.gif>) that I worked 30 hrs. a week in entry-level sales during my senior year of H.S. so I could spend all my money on a used 1990 Honda Accord EX (which was not bad for a teenager at the time). I put 17" wheels on it, a big sound system, and some minor performance stuff. A year later, I sold it and financed a '93 MR2 turbo which ended up being a pretty badass car before I totalled it. Then by the time I was 19 I was able to buy my baby, the '98 Eclipse GSX which is parked in my garage right now... 5 years later. It's going to be difficult, but it may be time for me to sell it soon, and start looking into the Lancer Evolution or a used Audi S4.
Anyway, my point is that if you want something enough, hard work and some networking will get you there. Even if you're young and not exactly wealthy. Just be ready to put yourself in debt <img src=smilies/thumb.gif>
