God the future is getting more fucked up by the day. Now America wants to harvest body parts from their own clones! How can so many people want this? Its true that they just don't give a fuck about others other then themselves!

I am superman!
tell me I can't? fuck you! I can!
I'll deflect your gun's lead
right off of my forehead
My only weakness is kryptonite
But you have no source
You're no threat to me
So I'll ride my horse
I fucking fell off
Now I can't use my legs
It's hard to eat lucky charms
When you can't move your fucking arms
Now only one thing can save me
I MUST EAT DEAD BABIES!
Yeah stem cells
Will make me well
It's all that can save me
Eeating dead babies.
I wrote that at some point last year..

Awesome. Let me try.
Gay Marriage:
"I can't believe half the country supports the right of two men to commit sodomy during a wedding ceremony. You people make me sick!"
Immigration:
"Military tribunals for illegal immigrants?! I thought this was the 20th century!"
Abortion:
"Capping newborns is so uncool. At least allow them a painless death."
Tax Cuts:
"Taxation without representation?! Isn't that why we conquered England?!"

Clones are people too. BTW, I think you set your time machine wrong. This is 2006, not 2106.

I see what you did there. <img src=smilies/erm.gif>
Anyway, I'm all for this.
After all, we know that humans don't have souls, and that we only invent this kind of thing (souls) because we're just sentient enough to realize we exist, but not enough to completely discover or understand why we're sentient.
Wa-hey! Send in the clones!

This gives me an idea for a novel. It's about a futuristic amusement park where dinosaurs are brought to life through advanced cloning techniques. I call it "Billy and the Clonasaurus."

Counterattacking my Simpsons reference with a Dinosaucers reference, eh? I tip my hat to you, sir.
Also, best theme song ever.

I couldn't actually recall where was your reference from (it was a tie between the simpsons and family guy though), but it reminded me of such awesome series, if only because it had talking dinosaurs everywhere.

Indeed. I wish boomerang aired it here, and not crap like Bright star.

To my knowledge, they're not trying to clone actual full human beings, they're just trying to clone the desired body parts (and anything else required to develop the desired part).
> How can so many people want this?
I sure do.
Imagine if, when people needed a kidney or liver transplant, we actually HAD a supply of kidneys and livers. No more waiting list bullshit. People in need actually get what they need.

Medical science is a quagmire. Everybody loves the benefits, but nobody likes the means by which it's accomplished. So you have all these people bitching and whining about unethical experiments.... but then 20 years later when the research is complete, those very same people are taking full advantage of the benefits brought forth from the research.

They should blacklist people who impede medical research, so that when they need the benefits of the research they impeded, they aren't allowed to have it and they die.
Of course, the big thing is going to be genetic engineering: I'm for it but only once we have a thorough understanding of it. Not before then. I think that medical science as it exists today is causing a lot of people to not die that will pass on detrimental physical characteristics to the gene pool, and if its not balanced out, we'll degenerate as a species and become utterly dependent on medicine.
