View Full Version : Pray for my mom.

This afternoon, she and a family friend were trying to get an air conditioner installed into her bedroom wall, and an accident happened. You see, she and the friend have been actually cutting a hole in the wall (and putting some fairly fancy-looking molding around it.. when I looked today, it looks as if the hole was designed into the building) to install the air conditioner. She was on the outside, standing on a chair on a cement staircase so she could tack up the piece of molding on the outside. Unfortunately, she slipped and fell off of the chair, her hip and elbow slammed into the edge of the raised cement she was standing on, and she fell to the ground. Needless to say she couldn't get up. Thankfully she wasn't knocked unconcious (in fact, she didn't even hit her head), but we ended up having to call an ambulance because the pain was too severe for her to even stand up.
Anyway, it's now 10:50PM (this all happened around 7PM), and I haven't received a call from either my mom or Dr. Bailes. So anyone who's reading this... pray for her, okay?

I won't pray for her, but I'll sacrifice some chickens in her name!
Seriously, I hope she's fine. And sorry for poking fun at this, but that's how I deal with problems.

Well, it appears that she's okay, she came home late last night along with Dr. Bailes (the family friend), at like 2 in the morning. They gave her some pain killers and put her arm in a sling and wrapped up her leg, but nothing was actually broken. Still, her arm and leg look like hell, so I think she'll be out of commission for at least a few days.
By the way, I deal with things by joking about them sometimes, too. Like when the paramedics were around mom, I ran in and grabbed the camera and took a couple pictures. Hell, even my mom was laughing, so it's not like we were laughing at her. Then when I was online in this one IRC channel, I made a joke along the lines of, "Yeah, it'll be good for blackmail in the future," people jumped all over my ass and were damn near crucifying me for making a fucking joke. Yeah, God forbid I make a joke to try to lighten my mind, because I didn't have enough worries already what with the person who gave me life being in the hospital.
Geez, some people are humorless. <img src=smilies/headshake.gif>
