For those who watch 24 on Fox, I'm sure you've seen the scandal. President Logan lies, cheats, puts people in harms way, and is a weak man. The last scene of last week's show was almost unbelievable.
Now with what came out regarding our (real) administration this week--the allegations that Bush allowed the leak--do we really need to suspend our disbelief for the show? I'm seeing a lot of similarities in 24 to the real administration.
I voted for Bush. I was behind him. But all the privacy concerns, all the scandal, and all the "politics" (to use that word in a negative connotation) is too much. I'm dissatisfied with our government.
There. I said it. I think it's the last part of freedom and democracy we have left.

I'm impressed, it only took you 6 years to realize that. Most people in your case would never admit that they ever did anything wrong though.
As for 24, I'd have to watch the first three seasons before I watch the 4th season. Is it as good as it's hyped up to be?

I'm not necessarily saying I was wrong in voting for him...I'm just saying he's not doing what I elected him to do and I disagree with just about everything.

Yes. Unfortunately, 2 of the 3 CTU girls from this season who I thought were cute are dead. They're killing off a ton of people this season.

I didn't give the show a chance, it was terrible at first and I stopped watching after a few episodes. That being said, quite a few TV shows are starting to bring up things like this that parallel the Bush administration, I wonder if any of it is getting through to the "common people"...

Yes and no. It looks like to me that everyone knows Bush is doing a bad job, its just they don't know why. Movies and TV shows are just using it to sell their stories.

electing him the first time was no big deal, but after he started a war for no reason (oh wait yeah it was oil,) drove the deficit into record breaking lows, and then goes and fucks up other countries, I can't understand how anybody would have voted for him a second time.

I don't think people would have if someone better than that douchebag Kerry had run against him.

The media had to destroy Dean's image, the conspiracy theorist in me says it was for that very reason. Also, all the voting machine errors (All of which are reported to have given votes to Bush) don't sit well with that side of me either...

I think you overestimate the average voting American.
Most people couldn't care less about Bush's politics. They like him because he's a nice wholesome innocent looking Christian boy. If he were able to run a 3rd time, I'm sure he'd still get at least 40% of the popular vote, regardless of who he runs against. He might even win.
People are stupid.

Yeah, I watch the show. I take it you're referring to episode #16 (as #17 aired after your post's date). The one where Logan is revealed to be the criminal. Although in 17 it's sort of revealed he didn't want things to be so extreme.
The rest of the year has some explaining to do. I've seen most of the episodes on TV. Luckily bit torrents exist for the episodes I miss.
I say we need to resurrect David Palmer and teleport him into this world so he can run. Heck, even the short-lived John Keeler seemed like a smart guy. With the way the season's going, the vice president may be taking over. (Unconfirmed, just a guess by me).

FYI, that avatar is cute. Cause she is.
I like her character, but it's nice to see her smile in interviews.

Ah yes. I began watching in season 4 (episode 16 to be exact). 19 was the next one I saw, and I just had memories of that scene at the end where she's got a machine gun. I didn't know much about the character at the time. After seeing the past seasons, I found that scene to be humorous now that I knew more.
Episode 18 of season 5 is tomorrow. According to the preview, Chloe's going to JAIL! Though we'll see about that. Too bad I will have to be watching this one torrent-style...

I'll be busy both Monday and Tuesday....Prison Break, 24, American Idol and House are all going to be pirated.
Of course, considering I pay Comcast $75/mo for cable...I'd say I'm well within my right to watch it later.

Well, I got my torrent the night it aired and got lucky as I got connected to a peer with 100KB/sec download for me. Though I remember the one night where I got a 200KB/sec guy. I wish I could be connected to that one each time.
Pretty interesting plot unfolding... A lot of people are in on the president being the bad guy or may be in on it soon. We'll have to see if he meets his demise.

This one time, for my birthday, my mom hired a clown. And I had a BUNCH of my friends over and the clown made balloon animals and he did magic tricks. After a little while, we started throwing things at the clown, because it's funny to do that, and the clown started yelling "Stop, please, stop." Then he started grabbing his chest and making funny sounds and fell on the ground and started twitching. So me and my friends we grabbed his pants and drug him into the pool because he was sweating and the pool would cool him down and we laughed because he made a "hwaaa" sound when were dragging him. He started floating in the pool on his stomache and we laughed and threw plastic forks at him and started calling him "stupid clown" and "doody head' and he just floated there. So I thought he would like some music while he was in the pool so I threw the radio in there and he started dancing. A few hours later mom came outside and screamed then the ambulance came by and they took the clown away in a black bag. It was so fun.
Ok bye. *Runs off.*
