Not to be a pain, but I think MOST of us would love to have to play SNES roms on our PlayStation. That would be REALLY cool...
(not for PS2)

This isn't exactly a forum to suggest new emulators. Besides which, the PS1 can't hardly emulate a working NES. There's no chance in hell it'll emulate a SNES.

Hey, while they are at it, can they take a look at the current version of snesDS and try to fix a couple of the bugs that have popped up in this most recent version?

I wrote most of the engine. I'll take care of it.

First chance I get to choose a project in my Computer Science studies I'll be working on an SNES emulator for the N64, probably in MIPS asm, so you shouldn't have too much trouble porting it to PSX.

I honestly don't think it would be impossible... just look at what ZSNES was capable of running on circa 1997.

The problem I believe, is that most of the PSX emus were built using Dev kits in higher level languages. I think if someone sat down and coded it pureely in Assembler (like ZSNES was once upon a time), it could work.

The only real issue would be having enough RAM left over for the emu when a large ROM is loaded.

This'll be something of a concern on the N64, too, as I'd like to not require the 4 MB expansion, though it won't be as serious as I can leave the ROM in N64 ROM if need be. Fast bulk storage comes in handy.
