I just got a dual core AMD opteron 165 (just a regular 939 x2 chip with 1 meg of cache in a cheapie gaming asusrock motherboard) and I can't play street fighter alpha 3. Every other part of my system is a carryover from my last and that had no probs. Is stable I ran two instances of prime 95 to test for stability. I set the game config to all defaults. It just crashes when I launch it and error log says
using RDTSC for timing ... cycles/second = 2222064508
cpu[0]: M68000 C core
width 384, height 224 depth 16
set visible area 0-0 0-0
set visible area 64-447 16-239
Physical width 640, height 480
Machine reset
shutting down after exception
Most Mame games work fine sf2 ce, neo geo games. Cept for this one. I applied a MS patch for dual core systems that is supposed to help with older game comatibility. I also disabled the second core in the bios but couldn't get it working.
Any ideas. Maybe a general tip that has worked with problem cpu's in the past.....
