Help with RE2

I'm new to emulation, and I need help on why when I play RE2 on the N64 emu, Project 64, some of the overlay effects don't work. Like when I get to gun shop at the beginning of the game, Leon looks like he is walking on top of the counter. Another example is if Leon walks behind something, looks like he's walking in front of it. What video plug-in are you using? If you're not trying it, I'd try Rice's Video plug-in.
