I just played an Xbox360 at the mall..

...and I am NOT impressed. Only played the Kong game and Kameo. Kong's graphics were good but the framerate was chugging along at 15fps. Not good. Kameo seemed to run much better, but I didn't see anything revolutionary that a PC with a good graphics card couldn't do. Has anyone else played the 360 already?

I've been meaning to go down to my local Wal-Mart and check out their demo unit, but I'm sure they've already broken it. I dunno, I wanna get one but I don't see any OMG MUST HAVE games yet. And no, Perfect Dark 3 or whatever the hell it's called does not interest me. So far the launch lineup looks lamez0rz.

I'm gonna wait a good six months to get one so it doesn't matter what I think of the launch lineup anyway but that is what I think.

No, the reason why you see Wal-Mart units turned off is because the wireless in the X360 interferes with their wireless POS and Inventory tracking systems. I was *amazed* I was able to find one that was turned on (at EB Games, but that's prolly because they didn't have nothing wireless at their store or surrounding stores <img src=smilies/laff.gif>)

ha ha ha thats hilarious! But I thought the 360's only *supported* wireless with a little dongle you can buy. I thought it wasn't built into the system.

It has bluetooth built in no need for dongles, altough you can run a wired controller up to the usb port.

Yeah, I read about it this morning. One thing I really like and found out by accident is that you can invoke the electronic guide at anytime even in the middle of a cutscene in a game! It feels like multitasking.

<img src=smilies/laff.gif> Demo units at Wal-Mart are ALWAYS broken. I want to put the damn Nintendo DS they have out of it's misery. You should see it...it's as though a swarm of 8 year old school children chewed on it and left it for dead (and of course that is what happened).

Broken or unplugged. I always used to unplug them to keep the row of kiosks from turning into a daycare.

oh god I know what you are talking about. It looks almost as if someone thought that sandpaper would make a perfect stylus. How can anyone ruin a peice of electronics like that, and why iddn't walmart put some sort of anti scratch screen on them? Jeez

This is the 1st time in a while that Im not excited for a new system release. I was hyped for GCN, gaybox, DS, PSP, PS2, DC, hell even GBA-SP, but this one is so.. lame, damn near reminds me for 32X.

you've gotta wonder how they manage to do such things. seeing the stylus at various locations makes me wonder wtf did they do to make it look like it did (it looked as though someone had been chewing on it for a few hours or something). not to mention half the time the stylus is missing.
