I was watching one of my favorite movies recently, called "The Castle." If you haven't watched it, it's a wonderful piece of Australian film and humor.
Anyway, there is a character in there named Farouk, who I believe to be either Yugoslavian, or maybe Russian, I honestly don't know. He is talking to the main character and tells him"I weel pay now, een cash." for something - but the main character tells him:
"Don't worry 'bout it yet, we don't have to pay the bill until later. What is it with wogs and cash!?"
Now the term "wog" is obviously a racial slur like "wop" or "spick" or what have you, but what ethnicity does it refer to? Does anyone know? I'm just curious - I'd never heard the word until I saw this film, and I hadn't thought of the word until last night when I watched it again.
Any help would be appreciated.
EDIT: btw - here's a picture of the actor, Costas Kilas. He's the one on the far LEFT.
