View Full Version : SegaCD question
I bought a SegaCD1 unit a couple years back, but the unit was dead (no apparent power, drawer wouldn't open). As you can imagine I don't get much use out of the console itself, but it did happen to come with 6 games as part of the deal, and I've been curious to try them for a while just to see what it's like (yes, Genesis fanboy).
I was wondering if there are any emulators that can read the discs straight from the CD drive, or do I have to do some arcane ripping/converting to make them work? Thanks for the help!

Absolutely. GENS will read the CD from your CD/DVD drive and works just fine. You'll need the SegaCD BIOS though, which you can't ask for here.

Kega Fusion. IMO, the CD emulation is better than Gens from the various things I've tried with both.
In either case, you'll still need BIOS files though.
Edited by MegaManJuno on 10/09/05 12:34 PM.

Cool. I haven't used Kega Fusion. I'll need to try it out. I don't really use the Genny emulator anyway, but maybe I would in order to play some Snatcher. =)

I used to use Gens, but then after trying Kega Fusion I started using that instead. I think it's trumped Gens at this point, but Gens may just make a come back. We'll see. :P
