I'm not entirely sure if this is true, but it's on Bungie.net and I'm going to take it for gospal.
PETER FUCKING JACKSON is on-board to help with the Halo movie.

I just hope that guy Jason Jones or whatever (the guy that wrote Halo and Halo 2) doesn't write everything.
Yes, I know he will, but I can hope. Jason Jones is sorta like Weezer. He came on SUPER STRONG with his first release....
Then tanked.

He wrote the initial story, but then they got the guy who evidently wrote "21 days after" to do the initial script, which was Bungie-approved.

Not only was it Bungie-approved, but they were ranting and raving about how it got better and better with each new draft.

I mean no insult by this, as I may not even be aware of such a title as "21 Days After "
But could you possibly be referring to 28 Days Later (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0289043/)?

Which, by the way, absolutely and totally sucked.

And further proved my theory that if a movie has more than 2 alternate endings to it then the movie itself is shit.
Godsend, 28 days later (they even had to re-release the theatrical version with a new ending it went over so badly), hide and seek.

I hope he remembers the audience is also aimed at 17 year or higher, mature nerd audiences (Such as many of us, not to be taken too literally), not 12 year old and 43 year old nerds, like LOTR was...
Anyway, this is supposed to be in conjunction with Halo 3 for Xbox (Maybe 360), so I hope it all works out well.

I. THE STORY
A. Background
You get the phone call at 4 a.m. By 5:30 you're in the secret
installation. The commander explains tersely, "It's about the Slipgate
device. Once we perfect these, we'll be able to use them to transport
people and cargo from one place to another instantly.
"An enemy codenamed Quake, is using his own slipgates to insert death
squads inside our bases to kill, steal, and kidnap.
"The hell of it is we have no idea where he's from. Our top scientists
think Quake's not from Earth, but another dimension. They say Quake's
preparing to unleash his real army, whatever that is.
"You're our best man. This is Operation Counterstrike and you're in
charge. Find Quake, and stop him ... or it ... You have full authority
to requisition anything you need. If the eggheads are right, all our
lives are expendable."
B. Prelude to Destruction
While scouting the neighborhood, you hear shots back at the base Damn,
that Quake bastard works fast! He heard about Operation Counterstrike,
and hit first. Racing back, you see the place is overrun. You are almost
certainly the only survivor. Operation Counterstrike is over. Except for
you.
You know that the heart of the installation holds a slipgate.
Since Quake's killers came through, it is still set to his dimension.
You can use it to get loose in his hometown. Maybe you can get to the
asshole personally. You pump a round into your shotgun, and get moving.

Let me rephrase that: If a movie has more than 2 endings included on the dvd that weren't originally part of the film. ^^ And yes clue was awesome.

Let's not forget about Quake 2's story about the Strogg and saving humanity from domination and such...Quake 4 is based on that story too :)
Great. Yet another crap film based upon a video game. Halo's story wasn't even very good, but I guess if they made a film out of Doom, this can't be much worse.

You didn't read the three Halo books, did you?
> You didn't read the three Halo books, did you?
No. I briefly leafed through one of them and found the writing style to be cliched, simplistic and shallow. Almost like those Star Trek and Star Wars novels. Definately not my thing.
However, I have read Ringworld and didn't really like it. Does that count? :)
