When I merged in v1.81 it enabled custom titles...

Mods are going to ban accounts and delete posts from people who use it to advertise.

We're trying to relax the restrictions and moderation...but for those kids who want to be asses and screw it up for everyone, we'll respond accordingly.

Some forums have a "store" system where you get "money" everytime you post or various actions occur. For example, some forums with stores have a lottery where a random member wins a jackpot of "money." Others have quizzes where correctly answering questions gets you "money." Then you can "buy" features with your money. Things like a new title or avatar, maybe your name in italics or glowing text. crap like that.

Now, you're probably saying "All that's a little extravegant," and you'd be right. You probably don't need all of that. Maybe just give money for making posts. Then make people buy the new title when they want to change it. That adds a little check into the system so that you don't have people changing their title every thirty seconds.

It should be mentioned that all posts prior to the title change will not reflect the title change. I just found this out now.

Well, I guess that many users here wouldn't have even known about this until you said something. <img src=smilies/eek5.gif>

That aside, I definitely took advantage of it just for kicks.

Why the parenthesis around the custom title? They aren't really needed, since the username and the title use completely different font colors and sizes. Can you remove them?

I was thinking the exact same thing.
Also, people that completely remove their title will still have () in place of it, which sorta justifies the deletion of 'em.

...just a suggestion.

You're right. A system like this doesn't need checks and balances

I can't even go to Acmlm's boards. They are way too tolerant of shitty post layouts. If they're not flooded with images, they're filled with a zillion quotes that are always 10x the size of their actual post, or are impossible to read due to horrid color clashing.
