Madden and Zsnes Please Help

I have been trying, forever, to play Madden 98 (or an of the Madden games) on ZSNES. I've tried several versions of the roms on more than 4 PCs and the game ALWAYS freezes. I've got it for Genesis, and it works fine, but I'd really like to play it on SNES. Is this a common problem? What, if anything can I do about it? Is there perhaps something I can enable, dissable to fix it? Thanks.

tell me a little more. when is the game freezing? what ver. of ZSNES are you using?

i was just running the game on ver. 1.42, and it was perfectly playable. only problems were an occasional sound/graphic glitch

The freezing is sort of random, not at excactly the same spot. It usually happens when you switch from offence to defence, but not always. I'm using the newest ZSNES, but I've tried this game on several versions as they were released. I've had it on around 4 different pcs and have downloaded the rom from a bunch of web sites. I'm not sure what the deal is

i'll assume you're using 1.42.

you unzip that thing in a clean directory? sometimes ZSNES has a fit if you try using it with old configs

Yeah, I tried that. Actually, my old PC died and I had to reinstall everything on new the one, so I had to DL all the emus again.
