In association with NESdev.com (http://www.nesdev.com/) DCEvolution proudly presents another edition of our DreamEmulation Project series for SEGA Dreamcast: This time it's our ultimate tribute to NINTENDO (http://www.nintendo.com/)'s classic 8-bit system and the incredible scene that takes care of keeping our childhood memories alive.

The image has been in development for a very long time and got support from many people of the Dreamcast and the NES scenes. And it shows: After downloading and unpacking you get an image filled with 370 MByte NES goodies bringing back those nostalgic feelings.

There's really no disc space wasted, certainly not with what it's filled with:
- High quality image menu system
- Background info on the NES, its homebrew scene and more
- 32 original classic NES TV commercials
- 57 MP3 tracks, including five complete records
- 180 free NES games and demos, lots of them previously unreleased!
- 230 NES Music ROMs featuring original compositions & remixes
- FSL Menu Theme Selector and six different NesterDC themes to choose
- 110% compatible for browsing the image on your PC too!

But this release is not only a tribute to the NES, it's also our definite tribute to NesterDC: With this release we say 'Good Bye' to Takayama Fumihiko's greatly improved port of Nester, that served our needs for exactly three years now, and 'Hello' to NesterDC SE (http://www.sch3rz0.com/nesterdcse/wip_features.php), the forthcoming update of everyone's favorite NES emulator by Scherzo.

Wait no longer and rush to this page (http://www.dcevolution.net/goto.php?id=65), with more info, screenshots and the download of 324MB (found at the right menu).

Like this one? Then also try our previous DreamEmulation Project releases:

In case anyone is concerned about the legality:

In theory, it looks legitimate. There are a few names ("Super Mario World") in the NES ROM list that ring bells as they're quite probably bootlegs of commercial games, but apart from maybe 5-10 questionable items in the list, it all seems legitimate. The vast, vast majority seems to be comprised of legal public domain ROMs. Go download this and give it a try, it looks like a lot of fun. http://www.zophar.net/wwwthreads/smilies/cwm11.gif

But would that be a problem? Because the bootleg is original code. Yes, it's a copy of an already released game for another system... but it's not using the same code or graphics. Not sure on the specifics of this...

You're clearly not familiar with the concept of bootlegging on the NES. NES bootlegs aren't original games, they're typically commercial games hacked to have different games. But by and large, this thing looks legitimate, so I'd encourage everyone to download it and give it a try. <img src=smilies/thumb.gif>

I used to hang around people who dumped Pirate Originals. *points you towards Somari, The King of Fighters, Fatal Fury Special, the 923472093 variants of Cony Street Fighter, and so on*
