I just got seriously robbed. It rained last night... which is totally cool... I mean I love the rain. But what I don't love is when there happens to be a leak in the roof right above where I put my computer.

The funny thing is... is I was even awake and on the comp during the rain.. and nothing happened. After the rain stopped and I went to bed... then water started dripping down from the ceiling. It got all over my keyboard, speakers, and mostly monitor. (thankfully, my computer is under cover of my desk).

So I wake up to find everything drenched. So I dry everything off and go "oh my god I hope it still works". Then like a complete dumbass... I turn my computer on. I should have known there was water still in the monitor. It might have still worked if I didn't flip it on.. but I did anyway. Don't ask me what I was thinking >_<

So of course it didn't work. I disconnect it, and carry it out of the room. It even smells like something got fried. I now stole my sister's monitor and hooked it up to my comp... just to make sure everything else works. So far so good. Maybe I can convince my sister to keep it hooked up this way... since her computer is slow as shit. =\

That really sucks. Buy one cheap for $10 at Goodwill and give it to your sister. Problem solved.

Funny, my room started to drip exactly while I was using the computer. Very near to my monitor. I unhooked everything and took it out of the room.

I hate rain.

Well it turns out the monitor is OK after all. Maybe it knew it was wet before and just stopped itself from turning on o_O

But anyway, last night I took the cover(s) off the monitor and let the interior air-dry. Put it all back together and now it works fine. I don't understand technology sometimes.

Wish i could say the same thing. The first time i bought my ex flowers, she spilled the vase on her computer and ended paying Dell 200 for a new motherboard.

I swear, that relationship had doomed on it from the get go...

Man. I remember the last time my monitor blew out on me. Very hard times. A 15 inch is no way to live.

The same thing happened to me a couple of years ago. I dropped a glass of water into my computer, and of course it wouldn't start. It was a old 286 so I just put it away, thinking it would never work. But after a month or two I tried it again, and it worked.
