Then, it's off to my brother's, until it's time for basic.

Not looking forward to this at all. Basic, that is. I don't like being up at 5am as it stands, let alone somebody screaming at me to get up and get dressed and get outside to do a mess of push-ups. I don't like crummy food, and I certainly don't like small proportions. And then there's the three-word phrase that has all my friends, and me more so, scared to death: live fire exercise. That phrase, and thing, are bound to up sooner or later.

Seven days in which to say my goodbyes before I seek solace and a desperately needed break at my brother's. He's away from everybody. I'll still be able to get on here for awhile. That is, until basic. These last seven days comprise finals week.

Why the hell are you going to Basic in the first place? Parents?
Shit, if my parents told me to go to Basic, I'd just as soon give them the finger, then have an online pal give me a place to stay. I know at least one would be willing to.

Thanks. I'm gonna need it. I get to go to basic to try to stand on m' own two feet. I then get to stick around for another two years afterwards. I'm going Air Force, 'cuz I should have some technical skils (any pointers would help keep me away from the dangerous jobs, so, please give me some).

I get to abandon my past in order to have a future. I'll be burning CD's at my cousin's and distribute customized ones to those whom I'm closest. I've already decided to close the CD's with "Friends" by Micheal W. Smith, but, I don't have an MP3 of that, and will be looking very hard for one over the weekend. Thinking about the song, and it's words.... (no exaggeration)

Oh man, that is rough bro. It sounds like you've made a decision to continue your education funded by the government? I wish you the best of luck and hope you're not saying goodbye to us....
