The End of an Era! PCSX2 is DEAD!

You heard right. According to http://www.pcsx2.net the emulator has been discontinued. This is very depressing news as PCSX2 was the most advanced and promising PS2 emulator in development. The good news is that prior to their demise they released the long awaited version 0.8.1 and made their emulator open source. Perhaps a good team will come along and continue their work...

Not sure if this is old news or not... but I'm assuming most people don't know.

I didn't buy that it would be discontinued without some sort of dramatic farewell statement as is the wont of pretty much everyone in the emulation scene when an emulator is officially discontinued. So I started looking around for clues, both in the page source and on the image itself. <img src=smilies/thumb.gif>

So, we've finally come full circle. This joke started when someone claimed that ePSXe had been discontinued, so it seems fitting that it end when someone claims the same of a PS2 emulater.

It is going to stop now, right? Or are we going to continue this game forever, in memory of that one idiot who started it all?

Well I'm sorry... I guessed on your e-mail address because your e-mail listed as swampgas@zophar.net was down due to spam. Then I logged on here and decided to tell everyone else the information I thought I had found. Then I saw your name and clicked it and saw that you had an AIM name listed. I thought that the e-mail I sent, just asas about 6 other e-mails I tried sending, wouldn't go through so I'd might as well IM you. Maybe if your contact page was up I would have been able to get in contact with you via one method instead of 3. Isn't it strange that when you click on the submit news button that it comes up as a blank page...? then at the bottom of zophar.net when you highlight your names some link to contact.phtml and some to contact.html, the contact.html page came up as an error. So I wouldn't have tried so hard to get into contact with you if everything here worked correctly...
