Done using a javascript file that Opera adds when it loads the page. (See attached)

If anyone's interested, it should be possible to do the same thing in Mozilla, using a Greasemonkey script.

We SEE it because he used the hack in OPERA. Yes you can SEE it with Firefox, but you need another hack to CREATE IT in firefox.

One person PMed me, asking me to elaborate on how to use the script I wrote (http://www.zophar.net/wwwthreads/attachment.php?Cat=&Board=test&Post=267360). I started writing this as a private reply, but then realized that I might as well just post these instructions here so that everyone can read it.

• Open the attachment in Notepad, and replace the text "_______sig_goes_here_______" with your sig text. Remember to escape anything that needs escaping, e.g. write \n instead of hitting enter.

• If you're using Opera 8 like I am, make a folder named "userjs" in your Opera settings folder (it can actually be any location, but this is what I did) and save the script there, so that you now have something like this:
C:\Documents and Settings\________\Application Data\Opera\Opera7\profile\userjs\zmd_add_sig.js

(Remember to remove the .txt extension. I added that simply so that ZMD would accept it as an attachment.)
(Also, in case anyone is wondering, my settings folder is named "Opera 7" because I installed version 8 over my version 7 installation)

• Then go to [main menu] > Tools > Preferences > Advanced > Content

• Check the "Enable JavaScript" box if it isn't already checked, and click the "JavaScript options" button.

• Where it says "My JavaScript files", enter the directory that you put the script in.

• After you click the OKs, the next time you make a new post, your sig text or code should automatically show up in the body text input field, when you load the post entry page.

For further information, you may want to take a look at Opera's "User JavaScript" page (http://opera.com/support/tutorials/userjs/). If I get around to it, maybe I'll make a better version of the script, that adds the sig after you're done writing the new post, rather than before, so that you don't see it until you actually post.

I haven't used Mozilla for quite some time, but I'm guessing the setup is similar once you install Greasemonkey (https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=748).

Disclaimer: I make no guarantees about the safety of using Opera's "User JavaScript" function or the Greasemonkey extension for Firefox. A quick Google search turned up this article (http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=24741), which warns that verions of Greasemonkey other than 3.5 have a serious security hole.

My hack isn't for allowing me to view other people's sigs. What it does is it automatically inserts my sig text into the body of every post I write, so that everyone else (except for people who have sig-viewing disabled in their ZMD display preferences) can see my sig.

Umm... isn't that what sigs do anyway? Couldn't you just put a sig in your profile instead of doing all this nonsense?

Or am I missing something.

Sigs no longer work through ZMD's signature option.

Wait a minute... Is sig length now unlimited if you use this hack? i don't really want to start seeing really long sigs just because someone installed your hack...

For good or evil any power can be used, mmm yes? ''''\(=)_(=)/''''
But know this, you should. Balance there is:
Long sigs lead to annoyance. Annoyance leads to complaints. Complaints lead to warnings. Disregarded warnings lead to banination.

Guess I won't be needing that anymore.

So long to being the only guy on the board with a sig. ;)
