Okay, some of you may know I've been quite ill this week. Well, since his apparent rehabilitation, the ol' Gobbler has actually been quite nice. He's come down to the house and we've warred at Mario Kart 64 about every night. I don't care what anyone says, a little one-on-one video game competition is good for the soul.
So, I've got this kitten, Lunatic. There's a reason he has that name.
And the Gobbler found out why.
Lunatic is the spitting image of his dad, Spaz. (who passed away last year, sadly). Unfortunately, he also behaves like him.
Anyway, we're sipping on a beer and Gobby starts wavin' his finger at the cat.
"Um, man, I wouldn't do that if I were you."
"Ah, don't worry about it, I've had cats. I'm used to a little roughhousing.".
I shrugged. "Okay."
Well, about two minutes later, the cat has not one, but two of Gobby's fingers in his mouth, the hand wrapped up with the front paws (claws out) and is kicking the rest of the hand and the lower wrist with his back feet.
"Jesus, make it stop," he yells.
I looked a Lunatic. "Enough."
The cat stopped and started washing his paws.
I looked at the Gobbler. "I told you."
"What are you feedin' that little bastard, anyway?"
"Same things I feed all my cats......Human blood."
Gobby started laughing and dropped his hand to his side.
I'll be damned if Lunatic didn't take a bite out of one of his fingers and draw blood.
Great. Now I got "Vampire Cats".
Sheesh.

out of context, wouldn't it be cool if you could raise 5 generations of cats and give 'em names like a royal family line...?
Spaz, Lunatic, Spaz II, Crazy, Spaz III, etc...

you keep letting those cats get near other people and you will have vampire cats, Flash

One of my friends used to play with my (clawed) cat. He kept getting scratched and jabbed, but wouldn't stop. He then later tried to convince me that he had an infection and that I was an irresponsible pet owner. Course, he was joking, but I didn't know that because I was a scientist and scientists tend not to notice humor in any form unless it's funny. When things were funny, I would give the usual guffaw and prance around like an idiot so that people wouldn't mistake me for a poodle. Poodles are popular among people that aren't idiots, but aren't particularly aware of their surroundings in the usual way. Anyway, where was I.......oh yeah. See, the important thing was that I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time......

that story made me miss my cat.

we used to play the "towel game" when it was roughhousing time. you wrap the towel around your hand, and let the cat attack it as much as he/she wants. the cat gets to let out its natural aggression, and your hand stays safe.

man, i love cats...

Reminds me of Freddy, my cat. Except Freddy is bigger and stronger than any kitten. Damn, I've still got scars from him. Next time, we get a she cat...

Sorry about that, Lobster. I love my cats. That's why I live in the um, "rural" area.
Grammarian's right. Dogs drool and Cats rule.
