Well as some of you may know, I will be heading to the Job Corps ASAP *prob within a month or 2*. I had my appointment this last Tuesday to see the placement person. Right after I filled out my application, she took one look at it and totally recommened me for the Job Corps brand new CISCO class. I was like "FUCK YAH" because I get a chance to learn how to actually program, and I'll be getting a $13.26/hour job (starting wage) and could be making up to $22.00/hour. I will list everything I will need to be familar with.
Computer Operator
-Knowledge of Word Processing, Databases, and Tables. (easy)
-Knowledge of Computer Operating systems and configurations.(easy)
-Ability to troubleshoot, communicate problems and solutions.
-Ability to test with a minumum score of 90%.
-Ability to type 35 words per minute. (I have this beat 2x over)
Call Center Operators
-Communications with customers via phonelines. (i will hate this)
-Again, being able to type 35 words/min.
-Troubleshooting
-Problem Solving skillz
-Ability to spend long hours at the computer. (hmm... no problemo!<img src=smilies/thumb.gif>)
-Knowledge of Word Processors.
Cable Puller
-Ability to crawl into small or confined spaces. (at 6ft, i can fit into any computer j/k)
-Ability to use specific tools for wiring projects.
-Ability to bend, left, and carry heavy objects.
There is a ton more I will need to know to pass this class, and let me tell you, this will be one walk in the park. I'm just happy that I will be doing something I love for a living and making big bucks and having my own place.
