View Full Version : Is 20 too young to complete college?

I don't know if 20 is too young, but regardless I'm going to do it anyhow. After this term there are just 3 classes left between me and the degree which I will get in the summer time.
But what's your take? I haven't really gotten a great deal out of it except for my information systems classes (which is what matters I guess). The rest of it was just unimportant to me.
I will turn 21 later this year in September.

I couldn't say much personally as I dropped out of college after the 1st year. I have very low tolerance for all the Gen. Ed. bullshit. So your assesment sounds about right - you gained from the core curriculum and everything else can go to hell.

Not at all, I know a lot of people that finish college early, some even in two years. Are you planning to go to grad school? If so, you could take a year to get work experience.
I used a lot of my time in college to explore different academic fields, partially to satisfy my curiosity and partially to get a more well-rounded education. There's nothing wrong with taking a semester or two of classes you're just interested in. I'm know it's dorky, but I feel like a kid in a candy shop when I read through the course catalog. If you're not at a big university, though, I wouldn't recommend this.

This kid in california finished college at like 15 or something like that, the guiness book is in my room, and I'm not gonna get it, so that's my guess. Yeah, finish as soon as possible, start making that scrooge mcduck paper.

Age really isn't important. I'm 20 just now and could finish law school this year if I wanted to. Thought that while I'm here I'd may as well do honours, so I'll actually be around till I'm 21.
If you think you've done enough, if you think it'd be better to go get work now than to stick around for another year, then leave. There's no point in being overqualified - experience counts just as much.

Got a sholership (ya, bad spelling , i know) or other free money for classes? If you do stay around and take some fun classes. I wanted to take a Japanses class or two but they never had a good time spot open. You might want to just take any classes that sounds interseting with you read the discription in the class catalog. It will help round out you knowledge base. College was the best time in my life, I really miss it somedays...

That would be true except that you killed him.
I did not.
Wait! I hear something inside the casket!
REALLY?!
No, because you fucking KILLED HIM!
