I can't take holding this in much longer. Though I won't be releasing any demos, I have to give you the guys the heads up on what's going with what was formerly known as SMB3DX:
This hack is now known as Luigi vs Mario. The premise of the hack is that Luigi and Mario are racing to save the princess. The catch? They're each taking seperate journies!

From the start you decide who you want to be. Mario and Luigi both have completely different sets of world maps and levels, so this will be a HUGE hack and plenty to play through once it's done.
Mario and Luigi each have seperate powers, also. Here's a small list of a few:
<table><tr><td>Mario Throws only 2 fireballs</td>
<td>Luigi Can throw 5</td></tr>
<tr><td>Mario fireballs bounce low</td>
<td>Luigi's fireballs bounce high</td></tr>
<tr><td>Mario has a new and improved item box reserve</td>
<td>Luigi can use "equippable" items</td></tr>
<tr><td>Mario has power up skipping. He can go from small straight to Raccoon, Fire or the like</td>
<td>Luigi must go through the normal Small->Big->Other routine</td>
<tr><td colspan=2>Each character retains their classic controls: Luigi jumps higher than Mario, but Mario has tighter control</td></tr>
</table>
Each character will have more advantages and disadvantages so gameplay for each will vary greatly.
The item reserve has been revamped from older hacks. This time, pressing select will have the item in your box be thrown into the air and you must grab the sprite, rather than the game simpl switch out your power-up automatically.

^Differences in jump heights^
Also notice, each character has a different set of sprites, really cool stuff.

With there being two different sets of levels for each character, the possibilities to this hack are endless. Am I crazy for taking this project to such great lengths? I sure am! But you guys get to reap the rewards of my hard work when you get two hacks in one.
To prove I have all of this working http://dahrkdaiz.panicus.org/Quests.rarget this crappy movie</a> that shows me going to world 1 and playing a small part of 1-1 for each character. The changes shown here are minor, but I garuntee you, they're playing two completely different maps and levels. This IS two FULL hacks in one, a total of 16 worlds to go through in one hack. Yes, I am nuts.
