View Full Version : Open source N64 Game Shark uploader
I figured this forum would be as good a place as any to post this:
I've just completed work on an open source Game Shark uploader which runs under Windows XP, 98 and has a working port to Linux.
It's on the http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/n64dev/n64dev CVS under http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/n64dev/n64dev/util/gsupload/n64dev/util/gsupload.
Now what would really make this useful would be reading from RAM, but I haven't mastered that just yet.

Cool...I assume this is for the GS with the PC Link stuff? I kinda wish I had one of those, I used to have a blast mucking around and creating myself some new codes with my N64 gameshark.

Yeah. I didn't even really intend to pick up one with a link, that just happened to be what Walmart had in stock when I decided to pick one up years ago. Now there's an open source solution for that communication, all we had before was the official version and a rather buggy free but closed source thing called GSCC, neither of which work well in Win XP.
I've added read support now. The program as it stands is for uploading Neon64, my N64 NES emulator. It can now autodetect what version of Super Mario 64 (PAL or US) you're running and upload Neon64 accordingly. It probably won't be updated on the public CVS for a few hours, though.
Edited by hcs on 07/12/05 03:16 AM.

Same here. I have a N64 GS but its like v2.1 or something. The ones that came out before Zelda. It has some kind of hookup on the back. Looks like its some kind of card slot or something.
