New Hack! - Final Fantasy 3 Platinum [Archive]

Here' s my Final Fantasy 3 Platinum hack. It is for the US SNES version of Final Fantasy 3.

Final Fantasy 3 was a great, but rather flawed game. There were many parts in the game that I consider 'broken' and in need of being fixed to maximise the game's fun. Basically, I adjusted the game's challenge to be at a more appropriately difficult level, and did a bunch of tiny little changes to remove the cheap tactics that the player can use to easily beat the game. In summary, I use a huuuge layer of polish to make this game faaaar more playable and fun than I believe it was previously.

For more specifics, see the changes.txt file for a specific description of all the numerous changes in the game.

I put it up here while waiting for the mod to help me post this in the ROM hacks section on the Zophar website.

You cannot run from ANY battles other than the one with the undefeatable Guardian. <-- that's a huge turn off

Some insanely unexpected enemy powers are now balanced out to avoid them wiping out your party in one hit. <-- oh great, stuff is even easier now...

Made it so none of the enemies in the Fanatic's Tower can use Rasp. <-- there goes one tactic

Some weapons were changed to something less broken in terms of gameplay. <-- I don't get this one...

As for the contents of the zip, I will never run an exe patcher. I only take IPS files. Call it paranoia or whatever you want, but that's what I do because I don't trust anything over the internet.

Look, I didn't decrease the game's challenge. I made it more FUN and more fairly CHALLENGING. How much fun is it to have your entire full HP party killed in one hit for no reason after spending 10 minutes getting through a portion of the level? How much challenging is it to be able to run away from every single monster in the game?

While I'm not him, I think he meant those as seperate complaints intirely. For example I can't run from battle and there are too many random battle and I can kill all enemies in a few hit and they can't touch me so it's quicker to just run around all the bloody things because the boring pointless but I can't because I can't run. And then he was saying you promote a challange hack by saying you've reduced the challange. Atleasted I think that's what he's getting at.
I think being able to run from low level ememies, as compared to your current level, but not high level ones would make more sence.(note yes enemies have a level so you can use Lv3, Lv5, ect magic on them, though I supose you'd know that except I can never rember what they were, so scaning always happened before useing them)

Has it occured to you to read the fucking readme.txt where I specifically specified that I have changed the game so that it takes 4x as much experience to level up, and because of this fact, there are many more encounters where you can instantly be killedd by the enemy attacks? Read the fucking readme, jackass.

My runs are rare, and widely spread out. Course when the level determines the damage a character does, physical attacks > all in FF6. No challenge at all...

And on a final note, I seriously doubt Fla Flash or anyone else will post your hacks as is (in the EXE format). While things like reverse racism and general same-pigment racism occur that still does not automatically make black people racist for using that word. Some use that word as an empowerment apparatus to make them feel better about themselves. But, yes this is not the best thing to do that does not give sufficiant reason to assume that they are racists. Your flamboyant use of that word either makes you ignorant or racist...but it IS common sense that the word IS a source of racism--therefore using it has it's racial condentations.
