View Full Version : school or lack thereof
finished first year of college yesterday, my grades apparently have made my parents think it is a waste of money so its likely I'll be working next year instead of going back to school. The thing is that I might prefer this, I've been questioning whether I actually belong in school for a long time and I was never able to motivate myself to put up with the shit I need to go through to get a degree. I think & hope getting some experience and doing something that actually needs doing will be a good move.
.. and 1k posts, yippie

i did a year of community college in california. way affordable. i just quit cuz i thought it sucked.
of course here I am about to turn 30 and thinking could it have been such a bad thing to tackle that degree situation when i was still "starting out" in life? probably not.
i would be getting paid more money for doing the exact same job i am now, managing the same set of responsibilities - except i'd have a paper that certifies i'm capable, rather than just my work performance.
but the fact remains, college certainly wasn't for me at that time. pulling my head out was. at which point, i should have promptly returned to college.
now i have to become a rock star and fuck lots of hot young chicks.
life isn't fair.
