you know that hd a while back, the one that was acting funny and we decided it was going bad. Gateway wouldn't believe us, it wasn't going bad they insisted... at least not until it already went bad to the point that NOTHING could be recovered except to dish out a bunch of moneys we don't have. so now we need to start the computer off fresh yet again, and it could have stinkin been avoided if those blasted techs would have just listened.

the moral of the story is to tell all those techs to screw it and either learn to be real, or get a job they can handle... such as fast food... i think morons could handle fast food...

Not all are bad. It's just a question of who you're dealing with.

Yep, two of my friends are having to deal with the exact same shit. I say you should get some phone books and a baseball bat. What you do after that, I'll leave to your imagination. <img src=smilies/magbiggrin.gif>

How right you are! I remember like seven years ago, my mom's co-worker purchased a new Gateway. A fix weeks after purchasing it, the computer wouldn't work. After sending it back to be repaired, she learned that the motherboard had blown on her new PC. A few weeks after that, the replacement board blew. It happened like three more times.

Like you said, I'm a professional tech (not at Gateway), and I actually got a little (very little but reacted to it at least) offended by the topic. It's saying all the people who is in a certain line of work sucks. And there are morons everywhere, but in the case of Gateway, I think it's buissnes and not incompetent techs. You see that a lot when you're a tech, it goes like this.
me: john doe's computer have this and that problem. It works for now but it'll break in a near future and they will have to send it in either now or when it breaks.
Boss: Tell them that it's windows that needs to be reinstalled, couse we don't have time for another comp right now.

I've quit this place of course, and are currently working at a place where I can stand my own actions.

But that's a legend of a lot of the bigger companies, supermarkets and other places that souldn't deal with computers. Sad but true. >:(
