OK, I have really bad handwriting...
and now my parents are really getting on my case about it... they say that I won't be able to get a job because noone could read the information on an apoplication, or the bank couldn't read my checks etc etc... and NOW they want me to practice my handwriting to make it look neater... god I dunno where to begin... any advice?

Just forget about cursive for anything but your signature and "print" (you know, how you learned to write in elementary) everything else.
Believe me, they'll care about clarity and content more than any fancy flourishes you could put on it.

Maybe you should try writing with your other hand? You could have been using the wrong one the whole time. <img src=smilies/magbiggrin.gif>
Just kidding. I dunno. it doesn't seem like there's a whole lot of ways to improve basic skills besides just practicing. Kind of like how I can't find any elementary singing courses in college. <img src=smilies/erm.gif> However, I can help. Print out this sheet and trace the letters with your pencil:

er... that uses different motor skills...
I dunno... they want me to practice, buuut er... I need something htat similar to my writing style (D'nealian) that I could just copy... but eh...

Just remember that writing is nothing but a series of simple lines and curves, if you're printing. I'm sure you know what each letter looks like, so just take them one line or curve at a time, taking the time to form them as perfectly as possible, and then working up your speed until you can write neatly with decent clarity.

Tell them to leave you alone. It's not exactly easy to correct bad handwriting once you've grown past the grade school level.

Like me...sometimes I can't read my own handwriting. Infact when I write with the opposite hand it looks 1000% better than the one I usually write with.
Note: I have arthritis and broke my right wrist (my writing hand) as well as permanently damaged my tendons n shit...at least my handwriting can't get much worse I wouldn't think.
