It's one of the best NES classics, and you should join in to revive it if you want a game worth playing to be brought back.

Except that online petitions (or petitions in general) never do a goddamn thing in regards to the real world. Especially video games.
*edit* what the heck is this doing in tech talk anyway?

I liked StarTropics, but I doubt this is ever gonna happen...but I have a question. Revival for what system?

It's about a video game. The Petition doesn't do anything w/ emulation or rom hacking.

Yeah, but why's it in Tech Talk?

Yeah, it should probably be in Talk of the Town.
Also, http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/petition/internet.htmonline petitions achieve nothing</a>.

Unless you do something drastic.

Please. An online petition is about as far away from drastic as you can get. It can be a decent way to spread the word around, but unless you start contacting the people who signed and get them to take some real action, it won't do anything.
If nothing else, look at it this way: an online petition couldn't get Mother 3 (Earthbound 2) released. What chance does it have for Startropics?
