So, what do you guys here wear? I've done about every type of facial hair. Goatee, moustache, "foo-man-chu", beard, and everything in between. Right now I'm sporting the "I don't care to shave for 9 days" look. So what's it at fellas?
Just thought I'd post a unique topic for a change.

clean shaven by the request of the ladies.

I haven't shaved for about 4 months now, sporting an unruly beard and irritating moustache, which I just recently trimmed so it wouldn't get in my mouth while eating.
It's a matter of not wanting to bother more than style. I've been pretty consistant with that since I started to grow it at all... every once in a while my mother will insist that I get it cut, like for my high school graduation photo or the first day of my summer internship, but I never keep it up for more than a few days after that.
Edited by hcs on 02/23/05 08:26 PM.

Facial hair... and pretty much all body hair in general is disgusting to me.
Ideally, I would shave every area of my body except for my head. However due to laziness I often let my facial hair grow out a bit -- and I seldom shave anywhere else (I shaved my pits for a while, but got lazy and quit).
If I had someone to impress, I would care more about it... but as it is right now I'm not concerned that much.

Body hair...yes very disgusting to me as well. Faical hair only bothers me if I don't take the time and effort to trim it and neaten it up a bit. And if I do...it's usually for the females.

Been there done that, wrote the book. Shaving one's legs and arms for guys is not really a good idea...when I did it it made my skin real dry and it was irritating during the fall and winter months. I do shave my pits religously, I believe it's more sanitary...I won't comment on the rest of my body...let's just say I like zero body hair. It's just more sanitary and cooler in the summer. I go through about 2 Mach 3 Turbo blades a month...damn things are expensive.

That's the real key...impressing or trying to "woo" the females is what drives me to do what I do. Call me a sucker for teh gurls I guess...

Slightly more than a teenage mustache (and I'm almost 22...). My family just can't do facial hair. It's probably a good thing since I'm lazy and so I only have to shave about twice a month.

Some (very few) guys can do facial hair. The first (only) one that comes to mind is Jonathan Frakes. Most people look way better clean shaven than they do with facial hair. And yeah... if you do decide to grow it out... it has to be trimmed and maintained. Sloppy facial hair is bad.

I considered shaving my legs... but that would require more maintainance than I'd be willing to do. Plus I always wear pants so its not like it'd matter anyway. If a girl wanted me to do it I wouldn't have any problem with it though.
I don't really see why it'd be any harder for a guy to shave his legs than a girl to shave hers. Do guys' leg hair grow back faster or something? I've seen some girls with pretty hairy legs....

The hair grows back thinner actually. But actually...it is harder to shave your legs as a guy only for the sheer fact that most guys never done it before...and eh...it's not easy. I had a hell of a time the first time I shaved...I bled everywhere. Shaving one's pits gets to be easy as long as you keep it maintained. Arm hair grows back thinner the first time just like legs...but after that it grows in thicker. Odd I know... But anyway, shaving your arms gets old...and shaving around your elbow is a pain in the ass. My tip for the guy wanting to shave one's body, NAIR is your friend. Just don't NAIR your nipples or "special" area. Don't leave it on for more than 12 minutes...8-10 minutes will take off MOST thick hair. Do not use a disposable razor ANYWHERE other than your face. A Mach 3 will work everywhere...just make sure you're shaving in the shower with semi-hot water and plenty of shaving gel. Foam won't cut it...

I have a sort of clean cut "devil beard" (as someone once called it). Because of my heritage (I'm half Asian), I only grow solid facial hair on select areas of my face (ie. I cannot grow sideburns, fortunately)..
The most recent photo (http://www.deviantart.com/view/11781818/) I have is about six months old, grainy and overexposed.
Edit: Actually, I forgot about this one (http://www.jsauve.com/images/gallery_jason.png), which is a bit more recent and a bit less grainy.

'stache only when I was in the military, up until mid-'98. After that, I sported a goatee for a bit, but then laziness (and getting tired of having my face break out from shaving) took over, and I've been sporting a (trimmed) full beard ever since.

I really can't grow anything substantial. It grows pretty fast, but its doesn't "fill in" very well, so i just look like a haggard bum....which is most of the time b/c I'm fucking lazy and never shave....although I have been doing it about once a week more recently as opposed to the monthly I had been....gets kinda itchy then.
As a side note....what's up with the guys shaving themselves bald? I think this needs further discussion....as to WHY?! Besides, I could never pull that off....mainly b/c I can't reach my back

None of that... I am usually lazy about getting haircuts (waited about 4 months this time), but I shave regularly. I tried picturing myself with a moustache, but I am sure it ain't for me.
I remember an old pal of mine grew a really ugly beard once. He rid himself of it after a few weeks though.

I'm in a similar situation. I tend to look young, so I keep short facial hair. I've been sporting a goatee of late.

Perma-stubble, like Lobster, with sideburns. I rarely wet-shave, since I use clippers to bring any growth back to stubble every 3-4 days. I think it just looks better, especially when you look like you should still be in school without. Having said that, I begin work as a trainee lawyer in September, so I'll have to get into the habit of shaving again. Bugger.
