View Full Version : No luck starting Dragon Warrior I & II (GBC) in color mode

Save for one lucky occurrence the other night, I've never been able to start DW I&II for GBC in color mode. Anyone have any similar experiences?

I have that game, and it works fine in color on my GBA. Are you sure there isn;t something wrong with your gameboy?

I assumed he was using an emulator... since you know... this is Gen Em /wwwthreads/images/icons/tongue.gif

But yeah.... cartman14... you should be more specific in your questions. Are you using an emulator? If so which one? Have you tried any others? Which ones?

I assumed he was using real hardware, because he said he was lucky to get it working one time. There usually isn't any "luck" associated with getting an emulator working right. Real hardware is far more likely to "flake out" or work strangely on occasion.

Heh. Sorry I was being so vague. I was using Visual Boy Advance, my emu of choice. Just tried KiGB and bgb and those got color mode going. I'd prefer an emu with fast forward though, which is one reason why I prefer VBA.

What mode is it set to? Look at your menu under Options -> Gameboy and try forcing it to CGB/GBC mode (if you haven't already).

Usually I have no problems with it set to Automatic mode (which I believe is the default).
