...Updating My Rom Lists & Was Thinking....
It is not as common as today, and it is, I am currently unaware. But during the Days of the 16 Bit Era, i.e. Sega Genesis, SNES. There was a lot of stereotypes of the Japanese Games, that our censors would remove, before it came stateside. For Example...
1. DJ Boy - Japanese Version - Genesis; Just check out the first boss... 'nuff said...
2. Streets of Rage 3 - Japanese Version (Bare Knuckle 3) - Genesis- The Second Boss is homosexual, the character was removed completely
3. Bust A Groove - Japanese Version (Bust A Move: Dance & Rhythm Action)- PSX - In Hamm's Song You Can Hear the Word 'Nigga', and his lips are more pronounced
Not really trying to point out an observation, basically, I am asking...Do You Guys Know Anymore Games 'of this nature', so that I may add to my collection?
Thanks in Advance

What is Heike Kagero? Maybe I titled this thread wrong...Stereotypes is what came to mind...but I am looking for censorship in general, I can remember a lot more of those, instead of just stereotypes...
1. SNES - Castlevania IV - A nude statue was "clothed" in the US release.
2. Everyone know the Mortal Kombat deal on the SNES
3. Mother 2 - Dad Beats Kid, on US Version Takes Away His Desert
4. NES -The crosses on the tombstones in Ducktales were changed to "RIP" for the US release instead of crosses...
5. NES - The gorilla in Little Nemo is smoking a cigar.
6. SNES - The various bars in Final Fantasy 6 were changed to "Cafes" in Final Fantasy 3 .
7. MegaMan - NES the "Yellow Devil" character was renamed the "Rock Monster."
8. Bionic Commando - NES the Swatiskas were changed to an eagle, Wolfenstein 3D on SNES the Same....
9. Bust A Move Again Jap - Strike drinks from a flask and is smoking, so is Hero....

In the US version of UmJammer Lammy for the PSX, that whole part where she's in the jungle was changed...
In the Japanese version, she was actually in Hell in that part, so of COURSE referencing Hell as it was, it was censored out of the US relesae.
Also, interestingly, Gannondorf spits up red blood in the gold cart versions (early versions) of Zelda: Ocarina of Time yet it's green in later versions of the game...also, there was a chant in the song played in the Fire Temple that was removed...can't recall why though.
*edit*
Oh, and since you were talking about the clothing thing....some of the enemies in Symphony of the Night on the PSX got that added clothing treatment in the US release....also, there's some in FF VI US that were censored a bit. I'm certain there's more, but it's almost 3 am, so I can't think of them. :P

It was supposedly quite similar to an actual religious chant of one sort or another.

Ah yeah, that's what it was...I wish I could remember what religon it was...I want to say Hindu but I really have no idea. :P Btw, your USF set is based on Zelda v1.0 right? I know that version'd have that version of the song, but at least one of the other versions might have it, I'm not sure.

Version 1.0 had the chant and some red blood in once scene, but was also a bit buggy.
Version 1.1 was the same as version 1.0, but with less bugs.
Version 1.2 probably fixed some more bugs, but the biggest changes were to remove the chanting and change the red blood in one scene to be green. Exactly why Nintendo did this is unknown.
