I've been calling the Sheriff's office for nearly 2 weeks trying to find out what the hold up is..."try again tomorrow" or "I'll talk to the morning guy" or "I don't know." I figured I'd use my expert terrorist negotiation skills and talk my way into getting it with a personal visit.
Waltzed in and said "hey...I called earlier this week and you said you'd have it by Thursday" (which was today)...a total lie. He opens the desk drawer and it's sitting on top. ???
So I loaded up the "new" preban mags I bought (the pair for $143 shipped), ran down to the gun shop and picked up some 115-gr Hydra Shocks...
Then, of course, WALMART! http://www.glocktalk.com/images/smilies/supergrin.gif Walked down every isle in the store, and made sure to buy some ammo.
Then off to the range to see how I like the Federal ammo...I must say the muzzle flash is terrible. It lit the already lit range up...but it had little to no recoil which is really nice. I noticed the holes in the paper were smaller than the holes made by the Winchester 115-gr FMJ. Anyhoo, loaded up all 15 rounds into the mags and headed off to watch Smackdown!
Afterwards.....off to Denny's for some food. A most excellent club sandwich hit my stomach.
Then...BACK TO WALMART http://www.glocktalk.com/images/smilies/supergrin.gif Had to roam around some more and get angry at all the 14 year old mothers dragging their 3 year old sons through the store after midnight.
And thus endeth my first official day as a CCW holder. Now to take LFI-1....http://www.glocktalk.com/images/smilies/upeyes.gif

off the record and for diary purposes...it really changes the way you think and act. a lot of people would assume someone with a firearm would be like john wayne and run around finding trouble trying to be a hero...but it's a lot different. when you realize that little thing hanging on your hip gives you the power to decide if someone lives or dies, you really think twice about EVERYTHING. and now that i have it on me whenever i leave the house (except for when i go to the club and/or drink) i definitely want to AVOID all potentional conflict.
and even if something occurred that i would be justified in using it, i would probably reach for the OC spray before i grabbed a gun. you can't take back the bullet once you pull the trigger. unless you are in complete, total, absolute imminent danger of being killed, who the hell are you to declare yourself judge, jury and executioner?
