A friend of mine asked me why I was idle for 29 days on AIM, but only signed on for 23 mins...and I was actively chatting. When I signed off, I stayed online and went idle.

I haven't signed on anywhere except home, so I didn't accidently get signed on somewhere...is there a way to have the AIM server kill all the clients? Apparently AIM has a ghost client signed on.

Mine always send me a message from the AOL server saying "you have more than 1 client signed on. reply to this message with '1' to disconnect every other client." So I just press 1. This seems to happen frequently with Trillian, but since the message is from the AOL server, I know it's not Trillian-specific.

That's the thing...I don't get that message. It's like a ghost sign on.

Try sending a message of just "1" (no quotes) to the screen name aolsystemmsg.
