CHT File?....New Here

please help. I have the zsnes emulator, and I downloaded a lot of good cheat files, but now what do i do with them? how do I use them? I am very new at this.

First, rename the cht file to the same name as the ROM...(ie if Chrono Trigger (U).smc is your ROM, then name the cht file Chrono Trigger (U).cht). Also, make sure it is placed in your save directory, which by default is whatever directory the ROM is in.

Then, start Zsnes and load the game...your cht file will load automatically with it. Then click the Cheat tab in the emulator's GUI and pick the proper option....I can't remember what it is specifically as I don't currently have any cht files to test it with, but I'm sure ya can figure it out.

Anyway, from there it's a simple matter of turning on which codes you want to turn on. When you exit back to the game they should be active and waiting for you to get your cheat on.

Do I unzip it? Because there are two files, the cheat file and another one when i unzip it,

Yep, unzip it...the .CHT file is the important one...the FRM file is basically a text file giving info on what game it is, cheats contained within, who submitted it...it's more for the site itself than anything, it's not something required by Zsnes.
