Fixing the ZMD HTML engine

Anyone want to help fix the HTML engine for ZMD? You know how it puts line breaks where there shouldn't be, how it parses stuff wrong, how you can't use greater/less than correctly, how you can't edit properly? It's a single part of the code that I'd give you which handles it all. It's badly broken.
