View Full Version : N64 Emmulator Troubles

I hope my ignorance will be either forgiven... or ignored. I've been screwing around with games via console for a long time, and had hoped to get an N64 emulator working on my computer. Well, I've tried all of the most popular ones and even a few I hadn't heard anyone recommend to me. Nothing happens. Sometimes I get an error message regarding DLLs, sometimes INIs, and other times the screen goes black for a moment, and then nothing happens. Anyone willing to help me out a little?

Computer specs (because at least you guys can tell me if I never actually will find an emulator that will work):
Intel Celeron 1300MHz
1.29 GHz
128 MB RAM

Yeah, I know. But one has to buy what they can afford.

Thanks to anyone who may be able to help.

what emulator are you unning?
What version windows do you have?

The most popular (and i think best) are 1964 and Project 64
and another tip is to use rices video plugin. BIG improvement
what exactly are these DLL errors?
Do they have anything to do with a 16 bit subsystem?

The N64 may(or may not) be the hardest console to emulate
so keep trying different combinations

It's more up to his system though, but IMHO it's either Rice's Video (which is what I generally use) and one of the recent versions of Jabo's Video plug-ins.

If he's using Rice's Video, it MAY be the common error of not having the right runtime files available. If the error mentions vc7blahblah.dll or something like that being missing, that's it.
