I got so incredibly drunk last night. I think that I had 7 Rum and Cokes in the span of like an hour and a half. I was so drunk that I blacked out and I don't remember the majority of the evening. I apparently almost got into a fight, I broke a box of nails, spoke only Spanish for an hour, fell over on my friends and then vomitted on myself about 5 times. My friends had to actually carry me inside and force me to drink water. I probably had alcohol poisoning. I don't really know what to make of this except that I'm glad that I have such great friends and I need to re-evaluate my philosophy on drinking.

Been there, and you probably did have alcohol poisoning, if your more than 2-3 times the normal limit for drunk driving your probably pushing the alcohol poisoning limit, if you throw up or black out and you've drank more than a couple times in your life you probably gave yourself alcohol poisoning, I did it hundreds of times, I figure if you can't remember the night before it was a waste of money and it's time to cut the consuption to a point where you have a little recollection and don't throw up. <img src=smilies/cwm11.gif>

I was too depressed to get drunk last night. So I just had 1 pitcher of Margarita to loosen up. But i'm feeling better today so it's time for an alcholic afternoon. It's been awhile. After I'm sufficiently sauced, I'm goin to see Signs. <img src=smilies/magbiggrin.gif>

The only thing stopping me from getting excessively drunk this weekend is the fact I'm housesitting for the landlady and the gobbler.
Yes, I'm sitting on HIS couch watching HIS satellite, I drank the rest of HIS beer (and some of my own, of course) and I'm currently polishing off his potato chips.
Yeah, buddy.
And you, my young friend should be REALLY happy to have such good friends. <img src=smilies/thumb.gif>

Yeah, half a year ago a best friend friend of mine got badly drunk and threw up at a bar and I had to clean most of the regurgitated Guinness and buffalo wings off of him using the easily-clogged sink in a dirty, cramped bar restroom. Then together with another friend I managed to drag my friend 20 blocks back to his dorm room and made him drink some water and Gatorade and eat a little bread along the way (though he didn't keep much of it down), meanwhile he was mumbling stuff about feeling like shit and wanting to die. I then stayed in his room for the night to make sure he was ok. /wwwthreads/images/icons/frown.gif

The experience was a pretty strong affirmation for me of my opinion that getting drunk is something to be strongly avoided.<img src=smilies/headshake.gif>

Do yourself and your friends a favor, and drink in moderation.

Smirnoff ice are very good at getting me blocked. Plus the adverts for it are excellent: 'You know sergio? Come join us!'

Both are good drinks. I remember my first white russian... sigh. I think I like black russians better though.

Hey man, don't get me wrong, these drinks were free at this huge party where they had a bar. But there's nothing like an Olde English 40oz bottle of malt liquor for $3. <img src=smilies/thumb.gif>

So true. Usually I never get drunk to a point of blacking out, but this time, it just snuck up on me cause one second I felt fine and then I don't remember anything.

I'm more accustomed to beer which doesn't do that to you.

Huh? Virgin margarita or do you just have amazing tolerance?

I think that's a totally appropriate situation to get drunk in. Imagine if you vomitted on HIS couch, HIS rug... you get my point. :)

I am so happy for them. I thanked them about 80 times each and promised that I'd never get that drunk again.

I've heard of consuming bread and water, but never Gatorade. Is it recommended to do that? Is that some secret I don't know?
Yeah, apparently two of my friends tried to walk me inside, but I fell over and knock both of them over too. Then one of my friends grabbed me and threw me over his shoulder and just carried me. Despite the fact that I was in terrible shape, I think that's pretty funny.

Well, there are different levels to it. I think that getting as drunk as I did, or your friend did is definitely very bad, but getting buzzed with your friends once in awhile isn't bad.

> Do yourself and your friends a favor, and drink in

That's good advice that I will definitely heed.

You might be right, but realize that I was conscious for about 5 hours and don't remember a minute of it. I don't know if that constitutes as poisoning, but if it's not, it's still pretty bad.

> your philosphy on drinking?

It was drinking is fun and drink drink drink whenever. Now I am a light-drinker and if I'm going to binge drink I'll stick to beer which I have plenty of experience with.

> touch a stove you get burned, its up to your sick little

Or the other night, when I was so drunk I could have touched the stove and then fallen asleep on it and not cared until I woke up in the ER.

> a span of an hour is a long time for 7 rum and cokes...

Maybe if you're Andre the Giant or have amazing tolerance. I'm 6' and 195 lbs and can usually hold my liquor, if you sir can drink that much in that amount of time, I congratulate you on far being my superior when it comes to drinking.

> try some johnnie walker...and how old are you anyway?

I would be 19. I know, I'm underage and all that jazz but I don't really care. If I can get drafted and die for my country then I should be able to get intoxicated with my friends in my country. Most of my friends that were with me that night are over 21 though and fortunately knew how to take care of me.

A friend reccomended it as a way of restoring electrolyte balance, because the balance is disrupted by the dehydration alcohol can cause.

Me and my sober friend ("T.") got my drunk friend ("M.") home by walking M. between us. (M. was conscious enough to take steps, but me and T. were carrying most of his weight for the 20 blocks. That was really exhausting. =P

Yeah, I guess... it's just that once you're already at the "buzzed" level, it's easy to be careless and graduate to the next level. =(
