"Apparently taped when he was still governor, the video captures Bush clowning around before some kind of official recording session. He complains that an off-screen aide, probably Karen Hughes, is "still telling me what to do" and then lets the bird fly."

If Nelson Rockefeller could do it while he was VP, why not Bush ? Just cause he's the president? He's supposed to be 'above all that'?
Despite the rhetoric, he's just a man, after all.

No way!! You really think so?
When I was a kid in high school, there was always the trouble maker kid in one of my classes, you know, the guy who is either the class clown or just a shit disturber in general...
Well, those kids always got sent to a special classroom when they became too much of a disruption to the rest of the kids in the classroom. I don't remeber what the official name for that class was but the students all called it the rubber room, you know like padded walls so that they wouldn't hurt themselves.
Bush reminds me of those kids, then again I am biased, I think he's a fuckhead
I believe it's the candid moments that give a truer impression than the rehearsed ones.

Yes... and if you had such a clip that had him making like a racist remark or something I'd understand your gripe. But all I saw in that clip was a guy adding a little harmless fun to his boring work day... there's nothing to be upset about.

Indeed, this reminds me of a little story of my own.
There is this "charismatic" celebrity on TV here in Norway who is always smiling and cracking minor jokes and the like, he became host of a soccer show of some sort (didn't really watch it).
Then one day there is this comedian in his show, with the intention of screwing up the show just for shits and giggles for his own show, and he has a backstage cameraman with him to tape the whole thing.
He gets asked various questions about Soccer, and proceeds to goof off everything and make up crap, etc, I am not entirely sure what happened, I only clearly remember the one thing that's important to the whole story:
I was looking at the aforemention celebrity, and then it hit, he lost the mask, and the real him appeared; his face changed from smiling and laughing at the comedians pranks (looked as real as it ever had) into a horrid look shouting "CUT! CUT! That's fucking enough!", or something to that effect.
Of course, that was never aired in the actual show, but was shown on the comedians show. I didn't have any opinion for or against the celebrity before I witnessed this, though I always thought it looked like he tried too hard to be funny sometimes. After that incident, however, I despise him, I've seen the real him, his mask no longer fools me.
That clip, however, is as harmless as it gets, though. I hate Bush as much as the next guy, but it wasn't "the real him" behind the mask, that was just a little release of tension, which probably worked to it's effect too; lighten the mood. :-)
As an aside, I do believe I've never heard "one-fingered victory salute" before, haw. *writes it down*

Giving the finger is a little different than cheating on your wife.
