Ok, this one (http://www.klas-tv.com/Global/story.asp?S=2421595&nav=168XRvNe) is a local news source, so I'm more apt to take it seriously than "online" sources. This is just getting to be ridiculous...not to demean Republicans, but the underhandedness of the procedures leading upto the election never cease to amaze and exacerbate me....this is just fucking insane.

(Oct. 12) -- Employees of a private voter registration company allege that hundreds, perhaps thousands of voters who may think they are registered will be rudely surprised on election day. The company claims hundreds of registration forms were thrown in the trash.

Anyone who has recently registered or re-registered to vote outside a mall or grocery store or even government building may be affected.

The I-Team has obtained information about an alleged widespread pattern of potential registration fraud aimed at democrats. Thee focus of the story is a private registration company called Voters Outreach of America, AKA America Votes.

The out-of-state firm has been in Las Vegas for the past few months, registering voters. It employed up to 300 part-time workers and collected hundreds of registrations per day, but former employees of the company say that Voters Outreach of America only wanted Republican registrations.

Two former workers say they personally witnessed company supervisors rip up and trash registration forms signed by Democrats.

"We caught her taking Democrats out of my pile, handed them to her assistant and he ripped them up right in front of us. I grabbed some of them out of the garbage and she tells her assisatnt to get those from me," said Eric Russell, former Voters Outreach employee.

Eric Russell managed to retrieve a pile of shredded paperwork including signed voter registration forms, all from Democrats. We took them to the Clark County Election Department and confirmed that they had not, in fact, been filed with the county as required by law.

So the people on those forms who think they will be able to vote on Election Day are sadly mistaken. We attempted to speak to Voters Outreach but found that its office has been rented out to someone else.

The landlord says Voters Outreach was evicted for non-payment of rent. Another source said the company has now moved on to Oregon where it is once again registering voters. It's unknown how many registrations may have been tossed out, but another ex-employee told Eyewitness News she had the same suspicions when she worked there.

It's going to take a while to sort all of this out, but the immediate concern for voters is to make sure you really are registered.

The company has been largely, if not entirely funded, by the Republican National Committee. Similar complaints have been received in Reno where the registrar has asked the FBI to investigate.

While at the same time the Republicans help to get him on the ballot....you're right, both sides suck, and I'm so fucking tired of it at this point, I just want the election be over with. Noevember 2nd can't come fast enough....I'm just so sick of this bullshit that its any wonder anyone would want to vote at this point.

Let me begin by saying I've found a lot of holes in this conspiracy, ever since a professor of mine advanced it. He has been harping on this subject almost everyday. He warned us that if we registered to vote online or at a library (or anywhere else for that matter) that our votes may not count. Of course, we all got conformations of our registration. That's not to say that this may not be a monster waiting to show it's ugly face come election day. If it's true, then the company responsible is just heavily delaying the inevitable with lawsuits and supreme-court decisions... *shudder* I really hope that doesn't happen.

Well, the issue is that the government always sends voter registration confirmation, and a simple phone call can be made to make sure things are processing. I actually called to make sure I was registered before my card came in the mail.

This raises so many questions as to the legitimacy of this information. While the "America Votes" organization claims to be non-partisan, the names in their "coalition" strongly suggest otherwise-- and they idea that they're entirely funded by the republican national committee is fairly insane, because they don't appear on the long list of names this group IS affiliated with, including-- and most importantly;
MoveOn.org Voter Fund
Planned Parenthood Action Fund
21st Century Democrats
Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence
Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund
Environment2004
League of Conservation Voters
And to quote directly from the site, "Cecile Richards, a veteran labor and political organizer, serves as the President of America Votes. Before joining America Votes, she served as Deputy Chief of Staff to U.S. House of Representatives Democratic Leader, Nancy Pelosi". I suppose it could be a different "America Votes", but this is the only one with any official presence on the web. And, as we all know, just about every recognized association in the world has a web identity. Just don't accept it as anything but another conspiracy. If it's happen, we'll find out about it because Republicans and Democrats alike will be doing everything possible to condemn those responsible. In Ohio everybody initially registers non-partisan, and I think all states should do this.

AH HA! So it was Bush with his wireless transmitter feeding brain waves to the America Votes coordinators to throw away the ballots while Karl Rove fed him answers about foreign policy and what was for lunch tomorrow!!!
