Fire Fox Help

I need some information here. I want to make Fire Fox my default browser but I am unsure how to do it. Before you scream at me, yes i click make fire fox my default browser. The problem is that whenever I launch the internet, IE launches anyways asking me to make it the default browser.

I want to set up firefox on this computer and pretend I never heard of IE. I want firefox completely default. If i click on a link, I want fire fox to open. If I enter a link when exploring mycomputer, I want Fire Fox to launch. Is this possible?

When you see a page in explorer, does it have an IE icon or a Firefox icon?
