Internet sharing problems

Currently, I have 2 PC's on a switch. One is my main computer, and the other is one I'm going to run a small IRC server on. I was trying to install Debian on the IRC server via network install, and for some reason it can't configure the network settings via DHCP. I tried doing it manually, but it still won't download the files from the internet. My ISP is Adelphia. My main PC is running Windows XP SP2, firewall off. Anyone know why this won't work?
