Wondering which version I should play of Final Fantasy VIII, the PC version or the Emulated PSX version. I've heard the PSX version looks better graphically than its PC counterpart. Is either one better than the other?

I'll be running this game probably on a 2.6ghz, Windows XP Home with Integrated graphics.

Would the PC game run with a smoother frame rate at Full Screen 800x600 than an emulated version?

I'd say yes, because the PC version ran at about 60% on my 233MHz (AMD) with the software renderer. Although, the PC version uses that crap midi music. Tough call either way... At least the PC version of VIII has no crash bugs like VII does.

If you get ahold of a PS-X style controller (like an Xbox controller adapter and such), and your computer can handle it... I'd go emulated.

...Or even a PS1/PS2 USB adapter for that matter... especially if PS1 emulation is the goal.

Ah, yes. I wonder why that didn't occur to me.
