for the record, in the 1980s, it was the right wing who were some of Ronald Reagan's greatest critics. the fact of the matter is this...as president, no matter where you normally lean, you always come back to the middle.

bill clinton, who was fairly liberal, had some incredibly conservative actions as US president, one of which was signing the Defense of Marriage Act into law.
