Upcoming new hack [Archive] - Zophar's Message Domain

Over the course of Jade's (http://disch.zophar.net/jade.php) progress, I've been working on a hack of FF2. I've also displayed some screenshots of Jade's potential, as well as FF2's potential. I can take a hint, nobody likes the game. But why? Well, over some bullshit polls and opinions I've been gathering, there are a few reasons. (None to be disclosed, aside from Jathys's "FF sucks" response.)

So, I'll be making a hack to try and correct some of the obvious problems with FF2. Though I won't go into detail about the hack, I will say this. The game will be <s>tolerable</s> enjoyable when I'm done with it. At this time, I do not have any screenshots to show off........yet. <img src=smilies/magbiggrin.gif>

actually, he might 9 because of the fact that 9 has a lot of references to the earlier FFs

Everyone says that 9 is 'old school' or whatever... but it totally wasn't at all. It was like the bastard child of FF7 and FF6 with twice the waiting times and 6 times the FMVs.

It actually could have been a good game if there weren't 15 minutes of bullshit for every 2 minutes of game.

It could have actually been a good game if it had been a completely different game with characters that I actually cared about. But that's a rant for another time. Let's just leave it at it is the only next gen Final Fantasy that I haven't beaten and have no desire to even play.

I swear Square didn't playtest the game at all.....

Leldorion... ummm, have you even opened Jade? Or how about looked at Jade's page (http://disch.zophar.net/jade.php)? You don't need to answer, for I know you didn't. The answer, is, of course, FF2. <img src=smilies/flipa.gif> Determine the games, what number goes where, and don't give me any Japan -> US conversion bullshit, because it's irrelevent. <img src=smilies/magbiggrin.gif> (Mostly because the US has everygame now except for 3. While you may not like it, that is the truth.)

And now a follow up progress report...
Although only on day 2, the hack is coming along much faster than I had anticipated. I'll get some prelim screenshots of the hack going tomorrow/later today, and show them off then. <img src=smilies/upeyes.gif>

That's not normal damage, that's much higher. ^_^
